Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Wake County DMV unit seeks a Program Coordinator I to provide exceptional customer service in vehicle registrations and title transactions. You will apply state statutes and DMV policies, issue plates, handle records requests, and process payments with accuracy and integrity.

Minimum education is a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with experience in data handling, title review, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Experience with PC and mainframe databases.
• Experience recording, compiling, summarizing & analyzing data.
• Experience examining titles for compliance with laws, rules, or regulations.
• Experience explaining/policing policies and balancing a cash drawer.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with vehicle registrations and title transactions.
• Apply NC General Statutes, policies, and procedures for titles/registrations.
• Issue official license plates per requirements.
• Process requests for crash reports and provide access to records.
• Accept and process payments for penalties, fees, and transactions.
• Provide courteous, professional service in compliance with laws and procedures.
