Continental Resources, Inc. seeks a Division Order Analyst III to expertly manage DOI/JIB duties, establishing and protecting ownership across producing properties. You will analyze title opinions, leases, and related documents, coordinating with Land, Revenue Accounting, Legal, and external partners.

The role also involves mentoring junior analysts, handling complex issues, and ensuring timely responses to inquiries, while working with internal teams to meet company objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
  • Fully proficient knowledge of land concepts and division order responsibilities.
  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains complex burdened division of interest (DOI) and joint interest billing (JIB) decks reflecting record title ownership of producing properties through detailed analysis of title opinions, leases, assignments, deeds, probates, farmout agreements, operating agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Determines ownership and calculates interest according to laws of descent and distribution/intestate succession when appropriate.
  • Completes ownership transactions of intermediate to advanced complexity within SAP.
  • Researches and responds promptly to phone calls, emails, and written inquiries from stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with internal teams, including Land, Revenue Accounting, JIB Accounting, Legal, Marketing, and Reserves, as well as external partners such as contract landmen, brokers, title attorneys, working interest partners, and interest owners to achieve company goals.
  • Trains and mentors junior division order analysts regarding all aspects of division order work.
  • Assists division order management as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Division Order Analyst III is an advanced-level role, fully proficient in all division order responsibilities. This role ensures the accurate and timely establishment, maintenance, and protection of legal ownership for the producing properties of Continental Resources. The Division Order Analyst III assists with complex division order issues. Additionally, this position involves mentoring and training junior analysts. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in Business, Energy Management, or Law.
  • Five (5) years of experience with an active oil and gas exploration company.
  • Experienced with land data systems such as SAP, QLS, etc.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, and occasional stooping.
  • Incidental lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
