Job summary

Amgen is seeking a District Sales Manager to act as the liaison to medical professionals, delivering clinical knowledge of Amgen products. The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration across districts and business units, and a focus on achieving sales targets within the Houston South, Texas region.

Ideal candidates will have a Doctorate or Master's with substantial Sales/Marketing experience, plus at least 2 years in managerial roles.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree with 2 years of Sales/Marketing experience, or equivalent work history.
• Managerial experience of direct reports or team leadership required.
• Preferred: experience in specialty sales and biologics.

Responsibilities

• Track the progress of marketing messages and programs.
• Provide feedback to district teams on marketing, allocation, and resources.
• Manage district teams to maximize performance and meet sales/budget targets.
• Screen, interview, and hire candidates.
• Ensure compliance with training.
• Coach and counsel for development.
• Conduct performance reviews and competency assessments.
• Coordinate with district and cross-functional teams (Marketing, Finance, other BUs).
• Share best practices with direct reports and peers.
• Coordinate and/or participate in cluster teams.
• Conduct district sales meetings to guide districts.
• Develop local Opinion Leader relationships to achieve objectives.
