Job summary

Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College is seeking a Manager, LMS & Distance Learning to oversee the operation and strategic development of the learning management system and distance education technologies. You will work closely with faculty and academic leaders to ensure these tools enhance teaching, learning, accessibility, and student success.

You will lead roadmap, budgeting, vendor partnerships, and change readiness so these tools reliably support teaching and student outcomes,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Four years of full-time or equivalent LMS administration experience.
• Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholder groups to align goals.
• Experience supporting faculty in online/hybrid course design or troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Leads team operations and professional growth; translates strategy into team goals.
• Sets multi-year LMS roadmap aligned with academic goals and risk posture.
• Owns budget development and management for LMS and related technologies; oversees project intake and vendor agreements.
• Defines institutional standards and sponsors rollout; ensures timely training and communications to faculty.
• Oversees vendor performance and SLAs; negotiates terms to align outcomes with priorities; tracks issues to resolution.
