Job summary

Responsibilities include supervising daily dispatch activities, monitoring route performance, maintaining records, and supporting training.

Qualifications

• 2 years of transportation, logistics, dispatch, or operations experience.
• 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; higher degrees preferred.
• Strong knowledge of transportation operations, routing, and dispatch procedures.
• Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS, and MS Office.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
• After-hours responsiveness when required.
• School bus transportation experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily dispatch operations and coordinate transportation services to ensure on-time route performance.
• Monitor driver, attendant, and vehicle availability and adjust as needed to support service requirements.
• Communicate with drivers, attendants, school personnel, parents, and management regarding route issues and delays.
• Respond to accidents, breakdowns, emergencies, and disruptions with contingency plans.
• Utilize routing, GPS, and communication systems to monitor performance and vehicle locations.
• Ensure routes are covered and assist with driver assignments and substitutions.
• Maintain dispatch records, logs, reports, and documentation.
• Support driver and attendant training on policies, safety procedures, and operations.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, state, local, and company regulations.
• Coach staff, track attendance, and manage performance; collaborate with departments for seamless service.
• Identify operational improvements and participate in startup planning and special events.
