Job summary

Pacific Coast Container Inc is seeking a Dispatch Lead to oversee daily dispatch operations in a fast-paced 3PL environment. You will supervise dispatch staff, ensure accurate scheduling, and drive on-time deliveries while focusing on safety and compliance.

The role requires leadership, problem-solving, and strong collaboration with logistics teams to optimize routes and reduce costs. A related bachelor's degree is preferred and a minimum of three years in dispatch or logistics is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in dispatch, logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations, with leadership experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics operations, including TMS, WMS, and ERP platforms.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage and develop a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word); ability to analyze data and identify trends.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform in office/warehouse environments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily dispatch operations for efficient workflow and timely deliveries.
• Supervise, mentor, and train dispatch team members to maintain high performance.
• Monitor delivery schedules and address delays, route changes, and operational exceptions.
• Serve as primary contact for customers regarding delivery status and scheduling updates.
• Collaborate with logistics and transportation teams to optimize routes and fleet utilization.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and transportation regulations.
• Investigate and resolve delivery issues, damaged shipments, and customer concerns.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records, schedules, and performance metrics.
• Prepare reports and provide operational updates to management.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
