Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Food Service/Prep Aide to assist cooks in food prep, dishwashing, and dining room service in a senior living environment. The role emphasizes teamwork, cleanliness, and resident-focused service at a facility in Bowie, MD.

Qualifications

• Pay range: $16.50–$19.50 per hour.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work well with others as part of a team.
• Must be able to work under close supervision.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen operation and use of kitchen equipment.
• Must understand and retain simple instructions and apply them to position.
• Must be able to stand, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
• Must tolerate temperature extremes, wet/humid conditions, and noise.
• Must lift 50 lbs and carry heavy objects up to 20 feet.
• Must wear slip-resistant footwear.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items as requested.
• Portion and plate salads and desserts.
• Assist with cleaning of kitchen, including floors and equipment.
• Set up and run dishwashing operation, keep dishwasher clean.
• Clean pots and pans as needed.
• Check water temperatures and maintain sanitation equipment.
• Take out all garbage.
• Assist with dining room service as needed, e.g. pouring beverages.
• Replace paper towels and clean hand sink.
• Stock food on shelves and in refrigerator.
• Report problems in kitchen or dining room to supervisor.
• Attend all required in-service and staff meetings.
• Provide superior customer service to residents and guests.
