Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Food Service/Prep Aide to assist the cook with preparation and presentation of food, and manage the dishwashing area ensuring cleanliness of dishes, silverware, and glassware while supporting other dining room tasks as needed.

Responsibilities include preparing items on request, portioning salads and desserts, cleaning kitchen areas, stocking food, and delivering friendly, superior service to residents and guests while upholding sanitation standards and

Qualifications

• Demonstrate good organizational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Must be able to work under close supervision.
• Possess basic knowledge of kitchen operations and the proper use of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to understand, retain, and apply simple instructions to assigned duties.
• Must be able to stand, kneel, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to tolerate temperature extremes, wet or humid conditions, and noise.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry heavy objects up to 20 feet.
• Must wear slip-resistant footwear while on duty.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items as requested.
• Portion and plate salads and desserts.
• Assist with cleaning the kitchen, including floors and kitchen equipment.
• Set up and operate the dishwashing operation, keeping the dishwasher clean and free of debris.
• Clean pots and pans as needed.
• Check water temperatures and maintain sanitation equipment.
• Remove and dispose of all garbage.
• Assist with dining room service as needed, including pouring beverages.
• Replace paper towels and clean hand sinks.
• Stock food on shelves and in refrigerators.
• Report problems or concerns in the kitchen or dining room to the supervisor.
• Attend all required in-service training and staff meetings.
• Provide superior customer service to residents and guests.
