Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking experienced Cost Estimators to support FEMA Public Assistance and disaster recovery efforts across the United States. This on-call role develops accurate estimates for infrastructure restoration and emergency work, with remote, field-based, or hybrid assignments.

As a Cost Estimator in the Disaster Recovery Cadre, you will work with engineers, architects, and program staff to define eligible work, prepare bottom-up cost estimates, and ensure documentation is clear,

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in construction estimating or related field.
• Experience creating conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, material costs.
• Familiar with construction practices, scope development, inspections.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and disaster recovery through cost estimating.
• Perform site inspections and assess damages to determine repairs.
• Develop and validate project scopes and recovery costs.
• Prepare cost estimates for diverse infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, utilities).
• Create audit-ready documentation and CEF analyses as needed.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and contractors.
