Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs across the United States. You will develop accurate, defensible cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency work, and permanent work projects, evaluating damaged facilities and validating project scopes.

This on-call role may be remote, field-based, or hybrid. You will work with engineers, architects, and construction professionals, prepare documentation

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in construction estimating or related discipline.
• Experience developing conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for infrastructure or facilities.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, material, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices, facility assessments, project scope development, and construction inspection activities.
• Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and disaster recovery programs with cost estimating activities.
• Conduct site inspections of damaged facilities and assess damages and requirements.
• Develop conceptual, parametric, and detailed bottom-up cost estimates.
• Prepare labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor, and general conditions costs.
• Review engineering reports, plans, and contractor proposals for cost accuracy.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, environmental specialists, and project staff.
