Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking Cost Estimators to support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs across the United States. The role focuses on developing accurate, defensible cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency and permanent works, with assignments that may be remote, field-based, or hybrid based on client needs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in construction estimating, engineering, architecture, CM, or related discipline.
• Experience with conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for infrastructure or facilities.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, materials, and construction costs.
• Familiar with modern construction practices, scope development, and inspections.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and manage changing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and disaster recovery programs through scoping, damage assessment, and cost estimating.
• Review damaged facilities, proposed repairs, and construction requirements.
• Develop labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor, and general conditions estimates.
• Prepare conceptual, parametric, and bottom-up cost estimates for recovery projects.
• Develop documentation clear for audit and program review.
