Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Cost Estimator to join our Disaster Recovery Cadre, supporting FEMA Public Assistance and related programs. The role emphasizes building accurate, defensible cost estimates for infrastructure restoration and emergency work.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, develop bottom-up estimates, and ensure documentation meets audit and program requirements, with on-call deployments that may be remote, field-based, or hybrid.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in construction estimating or a related discipline.
• Experience developing conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, material, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices, project scope development, and inspections.
• Ability to travel and work with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs through scoping and cost estimating.
• Conduct site inspections of damaged facilities and infrastructure.
• Prepare conceptual to detailed cost estimates for recovery projects.
• Develop labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor, and general conditions estimates.
• Prepare cost analyses for roads, bridges, utilities, buildings, drainage systems, and other infrastructure.
• Maintain documentation suitable for audits and program reviews.
