Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an on-call Cost Estimator to support FEMA Public Assistance and disaster recovery programs nationwide. You will develop defensible cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency work, and permanent work, with involvement across scopes and eligible costs.

Your role includes project scoping, damage assessment, and cost validation, collaborating with engineers, architects, and program staff, with remote, field-based, or hybrid deployments as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in construction estimating or related field.
• Experience developing conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, materials and costs.
• Familiarity with construction practices, scopes, and inspections.
• Ability to travel for field assignments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and disaster recovery programs.
• Perform project scoping and damage assessment.
• Prepare cost estimates for infrastructure projects.
• Review reports, plans, and cost documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, and program staff.
• Maintain project records and documentation for audits.
