Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to join our Disaster Recovery Cadre. You will develop cost estimates for FEMA Public Assistance and other recovery projects, evaluating damaged facilities and supporting eligibility determinations.

Assignments are on-call and may be remote, field-based, or hybrid. You will collaborate with engineers, architects, and program staff to deliver clear, defensible estimates and maintain documentation for audit and review.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in construction estimating, engineering, architecture, construction management, infrastructure planning, or related field.
• Experience developing conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for infrastructure or facility projects.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, material, and construction costs.
• Ability to travel as needed for field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs through project scoping, damage assessment, and cost estimating.
• Prepare conceptual, parametric, and detailed bottom-up cost estimates for disaster recovery projects.
• Review engineering reports, plans, and cost documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Develop and validate project scopes and estimates with multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain clear, defensible documentation suitable for audits and program reviews.
