Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Cost Estimator to support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs by developing accurate, defensible cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency work, and permanent work projects.

Assignments may be remote, field-based, or hybrid depending on client needs and project requirements. You will evaluate damaged infrastructure, develop and validate scopes, prepare cost estimates, and support funding eligibility determinations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in construction estimating or related field.
• Experience developing conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for infrastructure or facilities.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, material, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices and project scoping.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for disaster recovery projects.
• Support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs through cost estimating activities.
• Review project documents and ensure cost documentation is clear, defensible, and auditable.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and program staff to define eligible work.
