Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to join our Disaster Recovery Cadre and support FEMA Public Assistance and related programs across the United States. You will develop accurate cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency work, and permanent work projects, and validate scopes, quantities, and unit costs.

This on-call, as-needed role may involve remote work, field assignments, or hybrid arrangements depending on client needs and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in construction estimating or a related discipline.
• Experience developing conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for infrastructure or facilities.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, material, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices, facility assessments, and project scope development.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs through project scoping, damage assessment, and cost estimating activities.
• Prepare conceptual, parametric, and detailed bottom-up cost estimates for disaster recovery projects.
• Develop labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor, and general conditions cost estimates.
• Review engineering reports, plans, specifications, and contractor proposals for cost accuracy.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, environmental specialists, and grant professionals to validate costs.
