Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to join our Disaster Recovery Cadre. You will develop accurate, defensible cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency work, and permanent work projects across the United States, supporting FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs.

This on-call, as-needed role may be remote, field-based, or hybrid depending on client needs. You will review engineering plans, develop project scopes, and support funding

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in construction estimating or related discipline.
• Experience developing conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for infrastructure or facilities.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, materials, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices, site assessments, and project scope development.
• Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs through scoping, damage assessment, and cost estimating.
• Prepare conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for disaster recovery projects.
• Develop labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor, and general conditions costs.
• Review plans, specs, and cost documentation for accuracy and defensibility.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, grant professionals, and client staff to define eligible work.
