Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an on-call Cost Estimator to support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs. You will prepare accurate cost estimates for infrastructure restoration and emergency work, evaluating damages and developing project scopes.

Assignments may be remote, field-based, or hybrid depending on client needs and project requirements. This role requires travel and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across disaster recovery initiatives.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in construction estimating or related field.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, and materials.
• Experience with infrastructure projects.
• Ability to travel and work remotely as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Outlook/Teams).

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and disaster recovery programs through scoping, damage assessment, and cost estimating.
• Conduct site inspections of damaged facilities and infrastructure.
• Prepare conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates.
• Develop labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor, and general conditions estimates.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and program staff to define eligible work and requirements.
