Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal seeks a Director, People Technology Architecture to own the Workday platform architecture and roadmap. Lead global scale, consolidate HR tools, and drive a unified, secure data model with Extend, Orchestrate, Prism, and Build.

This role combines hands‑on design with leadership of a growing architecture practice, reporting to the Global People Technology Leader. The position requires deep Workday expertise, a strategic mindset, and strong stakeholder partnership across IT,

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in Workday configuration, architecture, or platform leadership.
End-to-end Workday platform expertise across multiple modules including HCM core, Payroll, and Integrations.
Experience designing and governing enterprise-scale integration architecture using Workday tools.
Proven track record owning a technology roadmap and consolidating HR tools into a unified platform.
Experience with multi-country Workday implementations, international HCM and global payroll.
Hands-on with Workday AI or automation capabilities or ability to rapidly learn new platform features.
Strong communication skills to simplify complexity for non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/HR Tech or related field; Workday Pro certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end Workday platform architecture across all active modules and establish standards.
Lead architectural design for new module rollouts and platform expansions (Extend, Orchestrate, Prism, Build).
Serve as technical authority for cross‑module design decisions and governance.
Develop documentation standards, design reviews, and runbooks to reduce technical debt.
Design scalable Workday architecture with global expansion in mind and governance for local variation.
Consolidate fragmented HR tools into Workday as the single source of truth for people data.
Plan consolidation roadmaps and coordinate migrations, retirements, and sequencing with leadership.
Build business cases for tool rationalization with IT, Finance, and stakeholders.
Specify integration patterns and ensure reliability, security, and scalability across systems.
Partner with PDAR and data warehouse teams on data representation and governance.
