Job summary

WM seeks a Director, Wastewater Process Engineer to lead enterprise-wide landfill liquids management initiatives. You will guide policy, design, and operation of leachate treatment across WM facilities, reporting to the Sr.

Director of ES&WT, and collaborating with internal and external experts. You will drive regulatory compliance, develop innovative treatment solutions, and mentor staff while balancing corporate goals with environmental standards and continuous improvement across WM’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; 10+ years of overall experience.
• 7+ years in industrial wastewater treatment design/operations.
• PE license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and coordinate activities of staff for landfill liquids management.
• Lead design and construction of leachate treatment facilities and due diligence.
• Use flow and mass balances to improve leachate treatment performance.
• Lead development of leachate and groundwater treatment tech; collaborate with experts.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and develop internal environmental policies.
