Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks an experienced Alternative Delivery Director-Transportation to lead the pursuit and delivery of complex transportation projects. You will shape policy, negotiate terms with legal, and coordinate with HDR leadership to maximize the effectiveness of HDR’s AD programs.

You will guide regional leads, manage relationships with clients and contractors, and drive collaboration across HDR’s matrix to win and execute mega-projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• PE License required.
• 15+ years of professional engineering experience on large civil transportation projects.
• Experience with Alternative Delivery, design-build contracts, and client engagement.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Project Delivery Program Director for pursuit and delivery of Alternative Delivery projects.
• Drive approvals in compliance with HDR policies and risk frameworks.
• Coordinate with HDR groups on policy, staff resources, and contract terms.
• Lead contract terms negotiations with HDR Legal and Risk input.
• Engage with Transportation Leadership and Regional Leads on client discussions and contractor relationships.
• Foster HDR matrix collaboration across Areas, Regions, and Market Sectors.
• Advise leadership on commercial and technical trends in Alternative Delivery.
• Develop internal relationships and expand HDR visibility in AD markets.
• Oversee regional leads and resource management for AD projects.
• Negotiate teaming agreements and subcontracts with engineering/construction entities.
• Represent HDR in industry associations to advance AD practices.
