Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Director of Transmission Engineering to lead a regional segment of the Transmission Engineering group.

The role involves managing engineers and supervisors, growing the business unit, developing engineering designs, and preparing proposals and estimates for clients. The position emphasizes compliance with design standards, regulatory requirements, and safety codes, while collaborating with division leaders to expand geographic reach and client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical from ABET-accredited program.
• 7+ years' experience in Power Transmission design with prior supervisor experience.
• PE Licensure or equivalent professional licensure.
• Experience leading an engineering team with resource management and task delegation.
• Strong written and oral communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
• Knowledge of overhead and underground transmission facilities and integration into daily activities.
• Familiarity with NESC, ASCE and IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day operations of the Transmission Line design staff and operations.
• Balance resources and forecast across multiple clients and projects.
• Mentor and develop supervisory staff and engineers.
• Provide guidance for professional communications with stakeholders.
• Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and market opportunities.
• Evaluate performance and development of staff and teams.
• Collaborate with Division Leadership to implement policies reflecting best engineering practices.
• Collaborate to pursue new client opportunities and expand market share.
• Coordinate with other departments on company-wide initiatives.
• Maintain relationships with existing clients and pursue new business opportunities.
