Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Director Business Development II to shape and execute growth for the Weapon Systems Division. The role leads capture and BD across multiple programs, building strong customer relationships and driving winning strategies aligned to division objectives.

This position will be based in northern Virginia with relocation possible. The candidate will manage a cross‑functional team, partner with program management and engineering, and travel up to 50% as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
• 15+ years in BD, capture, or PM in defense or aerospace.
• International experience with DoD/government; ITAR knowledge.
• Demonstrated awards and pipeline growth at OU/BU level.
• Proven success leading complex captures, preferably in weapons systems.
• Ability to obtain/maintain Top Secret SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive BD and growth strategy for the Weapon Systems Division.
• Achieve awards to support annual operating plan and long-range strategy.
• Build and manage a robust pipeline aligned with market focus areas.
• Lead stakeholder engagements and represent the division in customer reviews and events.
• Coordinate with Communications to craft our narrative across stakeholder engagements.
• Support keep-it-sold campaigns for existing programs and align with enterprise gates and processes.
• Lead opportunity identification, qualification, and prioritization across assigned markets and customers.
• Serve as capture lead or executive sponsor on high-priority pursuits with win strategies and proposals.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to BD and capture teams and build BD talent.
