Job summary

Broward County Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Director of Safety Technology to oversee the IT safety and security operations for the district. The role focuses on implementing, testing, configuring, and supporting safety technology systems and coordinating rollout of current and future safety initiatives.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 5+ years of relevant experience, and strong leadership capabilities to manage projects, budgets, and vendor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, cybersecurity, IT, MIS or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work at a technical level with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff as assigned in the performance of duties.
• Direct, coordinate and implement risk assessment and prevention initiatives.
• Manage project status, risks, and communications for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with IT management to develop long- and short-range safety IT plans.
• Manage budgets, personnel, and external vendors to complete projects.
• Coordinate safety technology training and staffing across the district.
