Job summary

Broward County Public Schools seeks a Technology Support Specialist II to provide technical assistance for district hardware, software, networks and servers at the Plantation location. You will train staff and students, maintain digital learning environments, and coordinate with district tech teams and vendors.

The role includes inventory management, applying security standards, and on-site problem solving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; required.
• Six (6) years of experience in supporting computer systems related to digital learning.
• Or an earned associate degree with four (4) years of experience in supporting computer systems.
• Proficiency in basic hardware and software.
• Knowledge of Windows, Mac, and iOS operating systems.
• Installing and maintaining software.
• Managing and maintaining computer network systems including Virtual and Local Area networks.
• Supporting enterprise applications used in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, and email/cloud storage.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance, training, and guidance to staff and students for hardware and software issues.
• Maintain an effective, stable digital learning environment at the site by collaborating with staff and district tech support.
• Help ensure adherence to district network security standards.
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware and software acquisition.
• Assist with installation of approved hardware and software.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs to technology.
• Participate in on-site technology team and collaborate with district staff.
• Maintain inventory of technology assets and ensure proper asset management.
• Engage in district-led training to sustain skills.
