Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Director, Enterprise Strategy for Power Providers to shape long-term growth and investment decisions across generation, grid modernization, and lifecycle services. You will partner with Power Providers leadership to define where to compete, how to invest, and which capabilities to build, translating opportunities into measurable results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of professional experience.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Pre-employment onboarding requirements may apply (background check, drug screen, MVR).
• MBA or related master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience at a top-tier strategy firm or corporate strategy function, energy infrastructure company, utility, IPP, developer, EPC firm, or infrastructure advisory organization.
• Power-sector fluency and knowledge of energy transition, grid modernization, renewables, and related markets.
• Strong strategic and financial analysis skills; ability to build models and communicate implications to executives.
• Experience supervising a strategy or related team.

Responsibilities

• Power Providers strategic planning across generation, solar, grid modernization, lifecycle services, and advisory.
• Evaluate investments and prioritization across Power Providers growth priorities.
• Develop evidence-based market views on utility capital spending, load growth, and regulatory shifts.
• Define priority clients, regions, service offerings, and go‑to‑market priorities for Power Providers.
• Identify cross‑solution opportunities linking generation, grid, BESS, solar, data center load, and lifecycle services.
• Build board-ready investment cases, TAM/SAM assessments, and financial impact models.
• Translate strategies into actionable roadmaps with KPIs and governance.
• Engage in executive stakeholder engagement and team development.
