Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Director in the Operations Group / Transformation Services within the Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice. You will lead large, complex engagements, partnering with Private Equity leadership to design and implement performance-improvement solutions across portfolio companies.

The role emphasizes cost-reduction, organizational restructuring, and operating-advantage initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cost-reduction or restructuring consulting.
• Industry depth in manufacturing, services, distribution, or retail is a plus.
• MBA from a top-tier school preferred; experience with private equity relationships a plus.

Responsibilities

• Structure and oversee time-sensitive performance-improvement plans to completion.
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost structures via leadership, staffing, and back-office optimization.
• Synthesize data and insights to boost EBITDA and operating efficiency.
• Lead cost-reduction programs including role changes and process improvements.
• Develop actionable findings and strategic recommendations for portfolio companies.
• Provide hands-on consulting across margin management, S&OP, sourcing, org design, and KPIs.
