Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal seeks a Director in Operations Group / Transformation Services for the Private Equity Performance Improvement practice, open to all U.S. locations.

Lead large, complex engagements with PE leadership to design and implement performance-improvement solutions across portfolio companies. Requires 10+ years of consulting or cost-reduction experience, industry depth, and an MBA from a top-tier school; PE relationship experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of consulting experience implementing cost-reduction programs or organizational restructuring.
• Industry depth in verticals (industrial, business services, distribution, consumer products/retail) is a plus.
• MBA from a top-tier school preferred.
• Experience with private equity relationships is a plus.
• Experience in both professional services and industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Structure and manage time-sensitive performance-improvement plans to completion.
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost structure by restructuring leadership, staffing, and back-office efficiency.
• Synthesize insights to enhance EBITDA and operating efficiencies.
• Implement cost-reduction programs including role changes and workforce reductions.
• Develop findings and make strategic recommendations.
• Provide hands-on consulting across margins, pricing, S&OP, sourcing, org structure, non-labor cost efficiency, KPIs, SG&A, and cash management.
