Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal seeks a Director in Operations Group/Transformation Services to lead large, complex engagements for portfolio companies within private equity. The role shapes performance-improvement programs, restructures leadership and back-office functions, and delivers EBITDA improvements across industries.

You will partner with PE leadership, develop findings, implement cost-reduction initiatives, and mentor teams through high-stakes transformations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional or consulting experience implementing cost-reduction programs.
• MBA from a top-tier school is highly preferred.
• Experience working with private equity relationships is a plus.
• Industry depth in a vertical (e.g., industrial, business services, distribution, consumer products and retail) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Structure and manage time-sensitive performance-improvement plans to completion.
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost structure by restructuring leadership, staffing levels, unit structures, and improving efficiency of back-office functions.
• Synthesize insights to enhance EBITDA and operating efficiencies.
• Implement cost-reduction programs, including role changes, process support, and workforce reductions.
• Develop findings and make strategic recommendations.
• Provide hands-on consulting in areas such as margin management, sales & operations planning, sourcing and global supply chain, organizational structure and KPIs, and working capital management.
