Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Senior Associate in the Operations Group/Transformation Services within the PEPI practice. Open to all U.S. locations, the role focuses on identifying and implementing large‑scale performance improvements for private equity portfolio companies.

Ideal candidates have 4–7 years of consulting experience and a Bachelor's degree, with a plus for industry vertical depth. The team emphasizes career development, leadership exposure, and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 4–7 years of professional industry or consulting experience implementing operating expense cost reduction programs.
• Depth in a particular industry vertical a PLUS (e.g., industrial, business services, distribution, consumer products and retail).

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering large, complex client engagements by working with Private Equity leadership to identify, design, and implement creative business solutions for portfolio companies.
• Contribute to engagements by structuring performance improvement plans and managing processes through to completion.
• Help identify opportunities to reduce cost structure by changing leadership and staffing, reorganizing functions, and improving back‑office efficiency.
• Synthesize insights from data to enhance EBITDA and operating performance.
• Participate in programs to reduce cost structures through role changes, processes, and workforce reductions.
• Develop findings and provide strategic recommendations.

Education

Bachelor’s degree.
