Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Director for the Operations Group within Transformation Services to lead large, complex client engagements in private equity performance improvement. You will partner with private equity leadership to identify, design, and implement value‑creating solutions across portfolio companies, spanning cost reduction, operating improvements, and organizational changes.

The position requires 10+ years of consulting experience, an MBA, and PE experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cost-reduction, restructuring or cost-structure improvements.
• Depth in a particular industry vertical is a plus.
• MBA from a top-tier school is highly preferred.
• Experience working with private equity relationships is a plus.
• Experience in both professional services and industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Structure and manage time-sensitive performance-improvement plans to completion.
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost structure by restructuring leadership, staffing levels, unit structures, and back-office efficiency.
• Synthesize insights from data and facts to enhance EBITDA and operating performance.
• Implement cost-reduction programs, including role changes and process improvements.
• Develop findings and make strategic recommendations.
• Provide hands-on consulting in areas such as margin management, S&OP, sourcing and supply chain, organizational effectiveness, non-labor cost efficiency, KPIs, and SG&A cost reduction.
