Job summary

Community Health Action of Staten Island (CHASI) seeks a Senior Director of Workforce Development and Professional Advancement to lead comprehensive workforce programs, internships, credentialing, and peer pathways. This role drives contractor compliance, staff development, and employer engagement, aligned with CHASI’s mission and the Next Step Recovery Center.

The position requires a Master’s degree and 5–7 years of leadership in workforce development or recovery services, plus 3+ years

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Public Administration, Human Services, Education, or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive leadership in workforce development, vocational rehabilitation, or related programs.
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience with professional staff or multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience managing government-funded programs, grants, contracts, budgets, scopes of work, deliverables, reporting.
• Ability to build systems, workflows, training structures, and accountability tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented services.

Responsibilities

• Lead CHASI’s workforce development strategy across programs and contracts.
• Oversee vocational rehabilitation, job readiness, internships, and training pathways.
• Provide leadership for contracts, staffing plans, deliverables, and funder reporting.
• Supervise workforce-related managers and staff and promote accountability.
• Use data reports to monitor outcomes and guide decisions.
• Build partnerships with employers, training providers, and government agencies.
