Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Staten Island is seeking a Director of Career Services Programs and Workforce Initiatives to lead workforce development, career training, and employment programs within the Career Services Department. You will oversee funded initiatives, align grant requirements with workflows, and strive for measurable outcomes for youth, young adults, and adults.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in workforce development, education, social services, or related field.
• At least five years of progressive experience in workforce development or related area.
• At least three years in staff supervision or program management.
• Experience managing grant-funded programs, contracts, and reporting.
• Knowledge of career coaching, job-readiness training, and employment services.
• Strong project-management, problem-solving, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with Office apps, Google Workspace, databases, and tracking systems.
• Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, launch, implementation, and evaluation of programs.
• Oversee the Keystone Program and other funded initiatives outside DYCD.
• Translate grant requirements into workflows, timelines, and staff assignments.
• Ensure enrollment, completion, credentialing, employment, and retention outcomes.
• Develop referral, enrollment, service-delivery, and follow-up procedures.
• Identify challenges and implement timely corrective-action plans.
• Recruit, onboard, supervise, coach, and evaluate staff.
• Build relationships with employers, training providers, and community partners.
• Monitor performance, records, budgets, and reporting deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with funders, policies, and regulations.
