Job summary

Western Veterinary Partners is seeking a Director of Operations to lead a portfolio of 8–12 general practice hospitals across Northern CA and beyond. The role requires hands-on field leadership, talent development, and a strong general manager mindset to scale the business.

You will partner with senior leaders, manage P&L, drive recruiting, culture, and operational excellence while spending roughly 70% of your time in hospitals and travel to Denver and other markets as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of multi-site operational management in healthcare or veterinary settings.
• Experience managing 8–12 hospitals preferred.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Willingness to travel 70% and work in field.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with DVMs to recruit, train, and retain staff.
• Drive results through partnerships and influence, not directives.
• Review practice trends and performance with doctors and staff.
• Champion culture and develop leaders through coaching and programs.
• Provide oversight to site managers and regional leaders.
• Foster accountability and service excellence at all levels.
