Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. is seeking a Director of Project Accounting to lead a 10–15 person team across architecture, engineering, and survey practice groups.

You will own project setup, invoicing, revenue recognition, and project reporting while ensuring compliance with GAAP and federal contracting requirements. The role demands expert Deltek VantagePoint/Vision skills, strong Excel and BI capabilities, and experience guiding financial performance across multi‑contract projects in a high‑volume

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8–10 years of project accounting experience, with 3–5 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience at a mid‑to‑large AEC firm with annual revenues well in excess of $100 million strongly preferred.
• Expertise in Deltek VantagePoint or Deltek Vision; ability to train others and oversee system administration.
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills; proficiency with BI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of 10–15 Project Accountants across multiple practice groups.
• Oversee project setup in Deltek VantagePoint/Vision including contracts, billing terms, and labor categories.
• Direct the full invoicing cycle and monitor accounts receivable across the portfolio.
• Oversee monthly revenue recognition, review earned value, and deliver project financial reports.
• Serve as SME for Deltek VantagePoint/Vision and drive system upgrades, SOPs, and training.
• Partner with Group Leaders and Project Managers on financial terms, reporting, and cost management.
