Farnsworth Group is seeking a Project Accountant to work with the Project Accounting Manager and Project Managers to ensure accurate billing, revenue recognition, and project cost control. You will support client invoicing, AR follow-up, and month-end close for project accounts.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and 3–8 years of progressive accounting experience, with emphasis on project-based billing and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-8 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong billing and general ledger accounting skills.
• Experience with Microsoft 365; Excel skills, a plus.
• Architecture/Engineering industry experience preferred.
• Deltek Vision or VantagePoint experience, a plus.
• Experience with project-based billing preferred.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and process client invoices in accordance with contract terms (lump sum, T&M, cost-plus, unit price).
• Review draft invoices for accuracy, completeness, and contract compliance prior to submission.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices.
• Support month-end revenue recognition and WIP reporting.
• Review project-related expenses and payables.
• Assist with maintaining accurate project budgets and cost tracking.
• Assist Project Managers in monitoring project financial performance against budget (EAC/ETC).
• Identify and communicate budget variances, overruns, or billing discrepancies to Project Managers.
• Generate standard and ad hoc project financial reports for Project Accounting Manager and Project Managers.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities related to project accounts.
• Support preparation of project financial data for audits, client requests, or contract compliance.
• Ensure project setup and modifications processed accurately in the ERP system.
• Maintain organized project financial records and documentation.
• Create and/or review new client records as appropriate.
• Maintain client related documentation, including MSAs and ensure implementation and execution of project accounting and revenue policies.
