Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. is seeking a Director of Project Accounting to lead a 10–15 person team across architecture, engineering, and surveying. You will oversee project setup, invoicing, revenue recognition, and reporting for a multi-project portfolio.

The role requires expert Deltek VantagePoint/Vision skills, GAAP knowledge, and a proven track record in a mid-to-large AEC firm with complex contracts. A hybrid work model and strong development culture are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
• “8–10+ years of project accounting experience, with supervisory responsibilities.”
• “Experience in mid-to-large AEC firms and revenue recognition under ASC 606 preferred.”
• “Expert-level proficiency in Deltek VantagePoint or Vision required.”
• “Ability to lead, develop, and retain a high-performing team.”

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 10–15 Project Accountants supporting multiple practice groups.
• Oversee contract setup, invoicing, revenue recognition, WIP, and closeout for projects.
• Direct client invoicing and AR management, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
• Oversee monthly revenue recognition and project financial reporting.
• Maintain system accuracy and SOPs for Deltek VantagePoint/Vision.
