Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. seeks a Director of Project Accounting to lead and optimize the firm’s project accounting operations across architecture, engineering, and surveying practice groups.

You will manage a 10–15 person team and drive accurate billing, revenue recognition, and closeout processes for a multi‑hundred‑million dollar portfolio. Ideal candidates bring 8–10 years in project accounting within an AEC environment, strong Deltek VantagePoint/Vision expertise, and proven leadership in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• 8–10 years of project accounting experience.
• 3–5 years in a supervisory/management role overseeing project accountants.
• Experience at a mid-to-large AEC firm with revenues >$100M preferred.
• Expert-level Deltek VantagePoint/Vision and strong Excel/BI skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 10–15 Project Accountants across multiple practice groups.
• Oversee project setup, invoicing, revenue recognition, and reporting.
• Direct full invoicing cycle and manage accounts receivable.
• Oversee monthly revenue recognition and project financial reporting.
• Establish SOPs and drive continuous process improvements across project accounting workflows.
