Job summary

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Director, Power Generation Strategy who can operate remotely or from US locations (Denver, Phoenix, Santa Clara, Ashburn). You will lead strategy for on-site and behind-the-meter power, evaluating generation technologies, negotiating IPP partnerships, and shaping the long-term self-generation platform across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Economics, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in power generation, IPP/BTM development, energy project development, or power infrastructure roles.
• Experience with IPPs, BTM/on-site generation, and energy transactions such as PPAs.
• Ability to operate in early-stage, ambiguous environments with evolving information.

Responsibilities

• Own IPP Partnerships, Generation Procurement Strategy, Generation Technology, and Nuclear/SMR Strategy focus areas.
• Lead on-site and behind-the-meter power generation strategies to accelerate speed-to-power when grid capacity is constrained.
• Evaluate generation technologies (gas turbines, fuel cells, BESS, nuclear/SMR) for feasibility, cost, and delivery timelines.
• Define strategy for long-lead generation equipment and coordinate with Procurement for sourcing and purchasing.
• Structure and negotiate IPP, BTM partnerships, and generation solution providers.
• Define and standardize generation strategy frameworks across markets for consistency and scalability.
• Prepare executive materials summarizing generation feasibility, costs, risks, and strategic tradeoffs.
