Job summary

Equinix seeks a Director, Onsite Power Generation to establish and lead the enterprise strategy for onsite, behind-the-meter, and co-sited power generation across its global data center portfolio. You will define how onsite power accelerates capacity, improves resiliency, and supports sustainability in mission-critical environments.

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in data center energy and infrastructure strategy with leadership of cross-functional programs.
• Experience building an enterprise strategy, operating model, or center-of-excellence across regions.
• Strong understanding of hyperscale data center development, uptime, and capacity constraints.
• Fluency across onsite generation, fuel cells, turbines, batteries, and interconnection.
• Experience negotiating complex energy transactions including PPAs and leases.
• Proven ability to influence leaders without direct authority and drive repeatable processes.
• Strong commercial judgment and ability to translate requirements into portfolio priorities and risk allocations.
• Executive communication skills to simplify complex issues and gain alignment.

Responsibilities

• Own and refine the global onsite power generation strategy across the portfolio.
• Develop and maintain a consistent OSPG playbook, governance, and cross-functional criteria.
• Partner with regional teams to adapt strategy to local market and regulatory conditions.
• Establish a global pipeline and governance cadence for opportunities across regions.
• Ensure OSPG solutions integrate with data center campus planning and utility capacity.
• Standardize evaluation and contracting for fuel cells, turbines, engines, and storage.
• Lead strategic relationships with developers, OEMs, utilities, and investors.
• Set standards for total-cost-of-ownership analyses and risk allocations.
• Define decision rights and interfaces across global teams.
• Advise senior leaders on portfolio choices and market developments.
