Job summary

Equinix seeks a Director, Onsite Power Generation to lead the enterprise strategy for onsite, behind‑the‑meter, and co‑sited power across its global data center portfolio. You will shape how onsite power accelerates capacity, resiliency, and sustainability while balancing cost and risks with regional teams.

You will build a globally consistent operating model, oversee technology and commercial frameworks, and partner with diverse teams to turn strategy into a repeatable pipeline of high‑impact

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in data center energy or mission‑critical infrastructure.
• Experience building enterprise strategy, operating model or playbook across regions.
• Strong understanding of hyperscale or large‑scale data center development and operations.
• Fluency across onsite generation, behind‑the‑meter power, and energy/storage tech.
• Experience structuring complex energy transactions (PPAs, EaaS, tolling).
• Proven ability to influence leaders without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Own and refine the global onsite power generation strategy.
• Develop and maintain a global OSPG playbook and governance.
• Collaborate with regional teams on local market conditions.
• Establish pipeline, governance cadence and project prioritization.
• Ensure OSPG solutions integrate with data center operations and planning.
• Standardize contracting approaches for energy and power tech.
• Lead strategic relationships with developers, IPPs, OEMs, and utilities.
• Define risk, cost, and ownership frameworks for investments.
• Set decision rights and escalation paths across teams.
• Advise senior leaders with market intelligence and roadmaps.
