Job summary

Tract is seeking a results-oriented Director of Utility Development to own power development strategy within assigned markets, coordinating with utilities and engineering partners to deliver HV/MV infrastructure for large data center campuses.

The role centers on interconnection, permitting, and delivering multi-site capital projects, while guiding internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve scope, schedule, and budget goals in an entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Power Engineering; Economics; Energy Management; Business; or related field.
• 7–10 years delivering technical infrastructure and utility contracting in regulated electric utility, independent power producer, EPC or large energy development environment.

Responsibilities

• Own long-term power development strategy in assigned state markets; manage infrastructure and supply solutions.
• Lead engagement with electric utilities to develop HV/MV infrastructure for large-scale data center campuses.
• Manage interconnection processes, utility studies, engineering coordination, and regulatory engagement at state level.
• Oversee siting and construction coordination of transmission, substation, and distribution infrastructure for multiple campuses.
• Manage multi-million-dollar capex budgets across concurrent sites.
• Coordinate with Land Strategy, Engineering, Environmental, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to advance milestones.
• Establish KPIs and report progress to VP and senior management; elevate issues for resolution.
