Job summary

Atria Health Institute seeks a Director of Engineering to lead Foundations (Platform, DevOps, and Data Eng). You will own the technical strategy, drive reliability and security, and manage a 12-person team including 3 tech leads.

Collaborate with product, data, security, and executives to accelerate delivery of scalable health tech. Lead architectural direction, adopt AI-assisted workflows responsibly, and build repeatable patterns across data pipelines and cloud infrastructure to serve

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with leadership.
• Track record of developing talent and improving team performance.
• Proven ability to lead multiple teams across platform, infrastructure, or data domains.
• Strong systems-design background spanning backend, data, security, and cost optimization.
• Hands-on familiarity with TypeScript/Node.js, GCP, Terraform, Snowflake/dbt.
• Active use of AI tools in workflow with responsible adoption.
• Ability to own outcomes end-to-end in fast-moving environments.
• Strong systems thinking and communication of decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own health, direction, and output of the Foundations group (Platform, DevOps, and Data Eng).
• Maintain end-to-end accountability for multi-team Foundations initiatives from concept through deployment.
• Own the reliability, security, and operational health of platform, data, and cloud infrastructure.
• Drive initiatives from definition through delivery, maintaining accountability for outcomes.
• Identify problems proactively and propose solutions without waiting to be asked.
• Serve as primary escalation path into Foundations for the rest of the organization.
• Partner with Product Engineering and Data & Analytics leadership to anticipate infrastructure needs.
• Collaborate with product, data, clinical, security, and executive stakeholders to deliver.
• Communicate early when blocked, and unblock teams with colleagues.
• Champion AI-assisted engineering workflows and maintain high architectural standards.
