Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a global consulting firm delivering transformative performance-improvement solutions. We seek a Director in the Operations Group / Transformation Services to lead large, complex engagements with private equity clients, focusing on cost optimization, organizational restructuring, and revenue-leveraging opportunities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional or consulting experience implementing cost‑reduction programs, organizational restructuring, or cost‑structure improvements.
• Depth in a particular industry vertical (e.g., industrial, business services, distribution, consumer products and retail) is a plus.
• MBA from a top‑tier school is highly preferred.
• Experience working with private equity or PE relationships is a plus.
• Experience in both professional services and industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Structure and manage time‑sensitive performance‑improvement plans to completion.
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost structure by restructuring leadership, staffing levels, unit structures, and improving efficiency of back‑office functions.
• Synthesize insights from data, opinions, or facts to enhance EBITDA and operating efficiencies.
• Implement cost‑reduction programs, including role changes, process support, and workforce reductions.
• Develop findings and make strategic recommendations.
• Provide hands‑on consulting experience in at least one of the following areas: margin management, pricing/product rationalization, sales & operations planning, sourcing and global supply chain, organizational structure and effectiveness, non‑labor cost efficiency, process improvement and KPIs, SG&A cost reduction, working capital and cash management.
