Job summary

Ethos is seeking an experienced Director of Learning and Development to lead and scale our company-wide training function. You will partner with executive leadership to implement a robust L&D strategy, build competency frameworks, and drive measurable improvements in workforce performance across our 1,400-person organization.

The role is 100% remote in the United States, with CST or EST time zones preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or related field.
• Master's degree in a related field preferred.
• 8+ years in Learning and Development or corporate training, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience building or scaling L&D functions with strategy, budgets, and vendor mgmt.
• Experience designing training programs and competency frameworks; LMS experience required.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to improve training at scale.
• Experience supporting remote or geographically dispersed teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a company-wide L&D strategy aligned with growth and performance goals.
• Oversee onboarding, employee development, and role-specific training programs.
• Establish competency frameworks and learning pathways for key roles.
• Partner with executives to identify capability gaps and prioritize initiatives.
• Lead selection and optimization of an LMS; apply AI to training efficiency and scale.
• Set content governance standards and measure training impact with analytics.
• Build and mentor the L&D team and manage budgets and vendor relations.
• Support organizational growth through change management and integration across acquisitions.
