Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine seeks a Director of HRIS to provide strategic leadership for HR information systems, data integrity, reporting, and technology initiatives. The role leads the HRIS team, collaborates with stakeholders across Stony Brook Medicine, and ensures systems support compliant, efficient HR operations and enterprise HCM deployment.

The position requires strong leadership, hands-on HRIS expertise, and proficiency in data analytics, process automation, and Oracle Cloud HCM.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of progressively responsible HRIS/HR tech experience with 3 years in management.
• Hands-on experience with major enterprise HRIS platforms: admin, testing, data validation, integrations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; highly organized with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, supervision, and performance management for the HRIS team; set priorities and ensure high-quality service.
• Oversee day-to-day HRIS operations: system administration, data maintenance, reporting, issue resolution, workflow improvements, access controls.
• Lead implementation readiness for a new enterprise HCM system across HR, Payroll, Finance, IT.
• Coordinate testing, validate results, document defects, and ensure issues are resolved and retested.
• Oversee data conversion and validation before deployment.
• Evaluate HCM configurations and provide sound, compliant recommendations.
• Monitor milestones, risks, and decisions; communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with HR leaders to streamline processes and improve reporting/analytics.
• Maintain documentation, data quality controls, and system security practices; support audits.
• Lead HRIS-related change management: training and user support during transition.
