Job summary

CetraRuddy seeks a Director of Finance to lead the firm's finance function and two-person accounting team. You will own the monthly close for two entities, monthly reporting, and the billing cycle across about 40 active projects using Deltek Vantagepoint.

The role is hands-on, with responsibilities for payroll, taxes, and financial strategy, reporting to the Managing Director and collaborating with Principals and project teams. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Experience in architecture/engineering/construction or project-based professional services.
• Direct responsibility for WIP, billing, and project profitability; explain to designers.
• Experience leading an accounting team and monthly close.

Responsibilities

• Close both entities monthly on an accrual basis, including reconciliations and depreciation.
• Own monthly billing across fixed fee, percent complete, hourly, and reimbursable work.
• Prepare year-end package for CPA review; oversee sales tax, 1099s, and filings.
• Produce monthly financial reports: P&L vs. budget, balance sheet, WIP, AR, and project metrics.
• Lead Deltek Vantagepoint system, project setup, and reporting; manage the accounting team.
