Job summary

CBIZ Talent Solutions is seeking a hands-on Director of Finance for a New York City architecture, planning and interior design firm. You will own the numbers, lead financial operations, and partner with firm leadership on strategic decisions.

Responsibilities include monthly close, financial reporting, project accounting, billing, cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and KPI metrics. You’ll guide a small team and collaborate with Principals to improve project visibility and profitability.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• At least five years within architecture, engineering, construction, or another project-based professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of WIP, fee-based billing, project profitability, and revenue recognition.
• Experience leading the monthly close and managing an accounting team.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly and advise senior leadership.
• Deltek Vantagepoint experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or public accounting experience is a plus.

Our client, an award-winning architecture, planning, and interior design firm, is seeking a Director of Finance to lead its finance function and serve as a strategic partner to firm leadership. This is an opportunity to take ownership of the numbers, strengthen financial operations, and help guide the continued success of a highly respected creative organization.

You will oversee the monthly close, financial reporting, project accounting, billing and collections, cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and key performance metrics. What We’re Looking For
