Catholic Funeral & Cemetery Services in Oakland seeks a Director of Finance to lead the finance function on the leadership team, partnering with the Executive Director on budgeting, staffing, and strategic decisions.

You will translate monthly and annual results into actionable insights for non-finance leaders, oversee month-end close, internal controls, audits, and manage relationships with outsourced accounting partners, all while living the Catholic mission.

Qualifications

• Progressive finance leadership experience in a leadership role.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Experience overseeing financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls (GAAP knowledge required; trust accounting a plus).
• Experience managing audits and banking relationships; translating data into actionable guidance.

• Starting salary: $140,000 - $160,000

We’re looking for someone with…

• Progressive finance leadership experience, with a strong analysis and decision-support focus
• An interest in representing and leading an organization rooted in Catholic values
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis skills
• Experience overseeing financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls (GAAP knowledge required; trust accounting a plus)
• Experience managing audits and banking relationshipsA record of translating financial data into clear, actionable guidance for non-finance leaders
• Experience leading teams and working with outsourced or third-party partners
• Warm, clear communication, written and verbal
• Comfort with accounting and analytics software
