Job summary

Databricks Inc. seeks a Director of Field Engineering to partner with enterprise customers, democratize Data and AI, and lead a growing team of pre‑sales Managers and Solutions Architects. You will drive strategy, coach sales and pre‑sales members, and deliver customer value in large, complex deals.

You will report to the Tech GM and shape a high‑performance culture focused on collaboration, safety, and durable customer relationships within the Data and AI ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 3+ years second-line leadership managing 30+ individuals.
• 10+ years of overall leadership experience.
• Enterprise software pre-sales success with senior-level tenure.
• Ability to drive large transactions and high-growth customers.
• Proven leadership to develop and empower teams.
• Operational rigor to manage a high-growth business.
• Experience building cross-functional partnerships (Sales, Engineering, Marketing).
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Hire and manage first-line Managers and a growing team of technical pre‑sales Solutions Architects.
• Build a collaborative culture within a rapid‑growth team embodying Databricks culture.
• Create trust-based relationships with customers for the long term and understand industry landscapes.
• Promote a solution and value-based selling field-engineering organization.
• Display understanding of business needs and revenue potential for accounts in the assigned region.
• Be a thought leader for Databricks and in the Data and AI ecosystem.
